Processes

Processes are a series of actions or steps taken to achieve a specific goal: creating a product, providing a service, or causing specific events to start other processes.

Roles required:: admin or process_manager.

To create a process, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Value Stream ManagementProcesses.
  2. Click New and fill in the form fields.
  3. Click Save or Save and exit to apply the changes.

Process form fields

NameYSpecify the name of the process.
TypeY

Select the process type. Available options:

  • Strategic – long-term.
  • Tactical – medium-term.
  • Operational – short-term.
StateN

Select the process state. Available options:

  • Draft
  • In use
  • Archived
Process ownerY/NSpecify an employee, who is the process owner. The field is mandatory in the In use state.
Process managerY/NSpecify an employee, who is the process manager. The field is mandatory in the In use state.
PurposeNEnter a brief description why this process is created.
InputNSpecify the required resources, data, and events to start the process.
OutputNSpecify the result of the process execution. This can be a product, service, or events that trigger other processes.
Activity scopeNSpecify the area that the process covers.
Work proceduresNSpecify a link to the document with the requirements for completing the process.

The Activity Feed widget is available on the form. It stores all changes of the record field values.

The form also contains the Products related list that contains records of products associated with the process.
