Product Modules

A product module is a software element that delivers measurable value to the consumer. Products are divided into modules depending on the product structure to simplify the management of the product and its tasks.

Create a product module

Role required: admin, product_manager. Users with the product_agent role cannot create and delete modules, but they can edit the records where they are the Module owner.

To create a new product module, complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to Value Stream Management → Product Modules.
2. Click New and fill in the form fields.
3. Click Save or Save and Exit to apply the changes.

Product Module form fields

Field	Mandatory	Description
Name	Y	Specify the name of the product module.
Description	N	Add a description of the product module.
State	N	Select the current state of the module. Possible options: Planned – default value In development Shipped Depricated
Module owner	N	Specify the module owner employee.
Parent module	N	Specify the parent product module. The related Product must be the same for the parent and child modules.
Product	Y	Specify the product from which this module is derived.

The Activity Feed widget displaying the History of record changes is located on the form.

The Child Product Modules related list is available on the form. It includes the records for which the current module is the parent.
